7 For All Mankind’s Fall 2009 Women’s Collection
7FORALLMANKIND.COM WOMEN’S FALL 2009 COLLECTION
7 For All Mankind’s Fall 2009 Women’s Collection has been inspired by fashion in the 40’s, when resources were scarce and the reinvention of an existing wardrobe was key. This season’s styles focus on re-imagined vintage and luxury through the Evolution of Novelty, Shades of Black & Grey, Second Skin fabrications and the unique 7*7*7 Series.
Seaming, quilting and piecing techniques give rise to a manipulation of fabrics that lay the ground work for the Evolution of Novelty. Innovative back pocket embellishments featuring lacquer, enamel and studs add modern texture. The Gwenevere, 7 For All Mankind’s skinniest fit, gets a fresh twist with ankle zips and zipper pockets that combine fashion and functionality. The Highwaist Seamed Roxanne in Dark Portugal and the Corded Hem Skirt in Allston offer different variations of the novelty trend, sure to suit every fashionistas style. Sportswear runs the gamut from Silk Twill Slouchy Shorts to Tiered Cami’s and Shirred Halter Dresses in exuberant Translucent Lace and Blurred Camo prints.
Shades of Black & Grey establish a dark edgy vibe this fall, which is complimented by chic silhouettes and luxe fabrics. Whiskering and hand sanding add casual appeal to the sexy low rise Rocker in Tailor Grey; however unique pearl rivets lend an unexpected feminine charm. An Italian stretch fabrication combines with a distinct black wash to create Port Lions which is also available in a distressed vintage version. Port Lions is the perfect backdrop for the Convertible Skinny and relaxed skinny Josefina styles. Noir Denim’s basic black rinse makes a bold statement on the slim flare Charlize and confirms that it’s back-to-black this season. The tonal shades of black and grey allow for the mixture of textures and easy layering. Hooded Wrap Pullovers in Onyx and Heather Grey Cable Knit trench sweaters pair perfectly with the Long Scoop Neck and Superfine Tanks. Inventive outerwear pieces round out the collection with the Reversible Quilted Bomber and Motorcycle Jacket in resilient leather and nylon fabrications.

Legging-like denim and draped, body hugging fabrics are the main focus of 7 For All Mankind’s Second Skin styles for fall. Soft and stretchy Double Knit transforms the Skinny Blazer, flirty Romper and close-fitting Gwenevere into comfortable, easy to wear pieces that are the perfect alternative to denim. The bandage style Seamed Dress in Noir Denim will update any wardrobe with its flawless silhouette and eye-catching design. Even classic fits like the Bootcut and “A” Pocket are restructured with 4-way stretch in washes like Glendale and Portugal to highlight fashion and comfort.
7 For All Mankind’s design philosophy focuses on the best fabrics, fits and finishes, which are aptly displayed with extreme intensity throughout the 7*7*7 Series collection. Only 777 pieces of each style will be produced for this limited-run collection. These unique handcrafted denim pieces feature beautiful washes, soft fabrics, unexpected details and hand-sewn embellishments, making each piece a one-of-a-kind work of art. Nostalgic Luxury is a deep blue wash with a covered vintage button closure that will be different for each and every pair. Vintage Repair is a heavily distressed black denim with repaired stitching and a light grey latex label that contradicts the antiqued feel of this wash.
Bold silhouettes and proportions combine with diverse materials to create a balance between luxury and utility that is sexy, sophisticated and undeniably wearable.
