Dinosaurs 3D at Imax

Dinosaurs 3D at Imax Audiences will take an adventure 80 million years into the past to a world ruled by extraordinary creatures in Sky High Entertainment’s DINOSAURS 3D: Giants of Patagonia, opening June 7 at the IMAX Theatre Sydney.

Dinosaurs fascinate us so much, that many people wish they were amongst us. The unparalleled quality of IMAX 3D will make DINOSAURS 3D at IMAX Sydney the most realistic way to experience the presence of these astonishing animals.

"DINOSAURS 3D will take the audience back 80 million years ago, sit them in a passing herd of Argentinosaurs to experience the thundering sound of their walk," says Marc Farfard, Director of DINOSAURS 3D. "It will put them at the brink of a Giganotosaur’s nest and show them a mother rushing toward her eggs (and toward the audience!) to chase away a small feathered raptor."

Following Pr Rodolfo Coria, a world-reknown Argentinian paleontologist, DINOSAURS 3D visit sites of major discoveries in Patagonia and travel back in time to see these amazing beasts come to life. Patagonia has given us the largest living animal to have ever walked the Earth: the titanesque plant-eating Argentinosaur, and its nemesis, the Giganotosaur, a bipedal carnivore, that could easily challenge the famous T-Rex.

DINOSAURS 3D allows audiences to witness the lives of two specimens of these superb achievements of evolution. The action is intense and the landscape is out of this world. At times, the camera takes us into space to witness the movement of the tectonic plates or the arrival of a comet that will seal the fate of the Dinosaurs.

"The end result of the movie worth every effort,’ says Farfard. The 'wow' factor, the 'IMAX moments', the 3D immersion, we have it all. It’s a superb subject served by a superb technology."

As the movie leaves our Patagonian giants behind to jump forward to the end of this extreme chapter of Earth's history, we learn through science that although most species of their evolutionary branch have disappeared, the Dinosaurs are still with us today.

Opening at Imax 7th June.

IMAX Ticket prices: Adult $18.00. Child $13.00. Family (2 adults/2 children) $50.00.

If it weren't for a series of cataclysmic events; a comet impact being first on the list, our planet could well still be the domain of dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs fascinate us so much, that many people wish they were amongst us. Fortunately, the large format Dinosaurs 3D will be the closest thing to actually being in the presence of the extraordinary creatures without looking into our own extinction at the same time.

Following Professor Rodolfo Coria, a world-reknown Argentinian paleontologist, we visit sites of major discoveries he has contributed to in Patagonia and travel back in time to see these amazing beasts come to life. Firmly based in science, the film carries the audience through the lives of two specimens of these wonders of evolution. The action is intense and the landscape is out of this world. At times, the camera takes us into space to witness the movement of the tectonic plates or the arrival of a comet that will seal the fate of the Dinosaurs.

As the film leaves our Patagonian giants behind to jump forward to the end of this chapter of Earth's history, we learn through science that although most species of their evolutionary branch have disappeared, the Dinosaurs are still with us today. You can see them easily. They sometimes perch on wires in your back yard. You've even probably eaten quite a few of them. They are birds.
