Interview with Lina Fouro

Question: How would you describe your music?

Lina Fouro: In terms of the genre, I'd say it's electronic-pop music. Some songs have a bit of funk in them too. Overall, I write a lot of very danceable tracks. I also write them from my own experiences so it becomes personal to a degree.

Question: What was the main motivation behind The Love Cycle?

Lina Fouro: The Love Cycle kind of happened accidently. I knew I wanted to work on songs, all the time, then I was introduced to Lonnie Szoke ( Juno Awarding Winning Producer Executive Producer of The Love Cycle). We hit it off in the studio right away because our outlook on music was the same. Over a years' time, Lonnie and I created The Love Cycle. I wrote the lyrics based on my experiences and emotions within a duration of a year and Lonnie produced the tracks. It just happened to coincide with a well-accepted theory called the Kubler-Ross Model. This theory says, when we go through an experience of loss, we tend to experience the following emotions in this order: denial, bargaining, anger, depression, & acceptance so The Love Cycle is a concept album based on that theory.

Question: Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?

Lina Fouro: I do write all my songs. Every song usually reflects my feelings at the time that I write it.

Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?

Lina Fouro: I listen to a lot of dance music & I'm on the go a lot so I listen to the radio, top 40 music.

Question: What's next? Tour/Album/Single?

Lina Fouro: I just released my album on Friday and I'm just really excited letting everyone know about it. The support has been great so far and I'm happy to announce that I'll also be headlining for the Miss USA Pageants both in Nevada & California in the New Year.

Question: Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?

Lina Fouro: My music has always been a part of who I am, I've never had that thought since I've decided to share my music with the public.

Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?

Lina Fouro: I enjoy both performing live and recording equally but not simultaneously. They're two complete different processes and my preference is concentrating on one thing at a time.

Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?

Lina Fouro: My best friend pushed me to pursue my passion in the music industry. She believed that I was talented enough and motivated me to share my music with the public.

Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?

Lina Fouro: There are all kinds of challenges that came along my way, but the biggest one would definitely be staying true to oneself. There are a lot of different views and perspectives that may influence someone's outlook so it's challenging to be able to separate yourself from what others want you to be versus the self-journey.

Question: What's a typical day like?

Lina Fouro: Typical day always involves music, from sharing ideas with different people in my team, to sharing updates with my fans on what's going on that's new. I also work on writing and laying out melodies on a typical day. Besides that, I divide my time between reading, cooking, working out and of course spending time with my dog.

Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?

Lina Fouro: My favorite part is that I can be myself and love that my fans really understand me & encourage me to keep pursing my passion.

Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

Lina Fouro: I would love to collaborate with an Edm producer like Avicii or Kaskade.

Question: Do you have a website fans can visit?
