Regina Garde is a lifestyle collection designed for the intrepid modern woman, evoking far flung, exotic destinations. An intoxicating mix of spicy Balinese influences and the fun-loving Australian aesthetic, Regina Garde is the creation of Balinese-born, Sydney local, Regina Tjandra.

With a background in art and jewellery design, Regina brings her artist’s eye for intricate detail and beauty to the range, which is inspired by both big city life in Sydney and the perennial Balinese summer and beach culture. While the extensive fashion, accessory and jewellery range has been available online since February 08, January 09 marks the opening of a flagship store on Sydney’s fashionable Crown Street strip.

Conjuring images of long balmy summer days, Regina Garde designs feature natural materials such as cotton, silk, leather and semi-precious stones and are produced in Bali using traditional techniques.

For summer, floaty, romantic dresses in pure white and vibrant floral prints feature hemlines flirting above the knee, or falling seductively to the floor. Fine leather handbags are intricately tooled and richly coloured, and exquisite vintage styled filigree jewellery in gold and silver takes the form of delicate leaves and flowers, as well as more abstract designs. The 100% leather Regina Garde footwear collection is made in Italy.

Romantic and feminine, Regina Garde is the antithesis of mass-market fashion, with each piece lovingly made by the most highly skilled craftsmen. The finishing touches, such as hand beading of clothing and polishing of silver jewellery are applied in Sydney, with each piece taking two to three weeks to complete. Prices range from $5 for jewellery, to $500 for leather bags and heavily embroidered dresses.
