AN OLFACTORY INTERPRETATION
Thierry Mugler has conceived of a stunningly original project for the release of the film version of Perfume: an olfactory interpretation of Patrick Süskind's work, a treasure trove to reveal the fragrant nature of the book.
This daring journey into the heart of perfumes and fragrances represents an extension of this exceptional tale, translated into fifteen olfactory compositions. It is a quest for emotion, between fantasy and reality, in atmospheres which are at once historic, enigmatic and sensual.
No one has ever dared transform the perfumes and strange scenarios of the novel, which the author describes in such detail, into actual fragrances. These fifteen tailor-made compositions transcend the habitual notions of "a good or bad smell", They are disorientating, disturbing, divine, sensual, icy.., none of the 15 compositions will leave anyone indifferent. They provide access to an utterly new dimension: the sensual perception of words and images.
