I'm a great believer in the old adage, `Actions speak louder than words.' So, my answer to your brief question is - watch and wait if you're not sure of a boy's feelings. Let some time pass and check his credibility in a number of different situations. There's an important distinction between caution and mistrust. Have you any reason to doubt this guy's word? On a more immediate basis, I believe you can tell someone's sincerity in their eyes. If someone can look you straight in the eye when they're speaking to you and especially if he's talking about his feelings, there's a good chance that you can find the whole truth if you look deep enough into them. Can he look you straight in the eye when he's speaking to you and especially if he's talking about his feeling?
