ACUPUNCTURE Looking further into Five Element Acupuncture
Acupuncture works by improving the health of the 12 lines or meridians of energy that flow through our body. Five Element Acupuncture is an ancient form of acupuncture that works by treating the emotional side of a person. The Chinese believe that each of us has one main element that needs support - which becomes our acupuncture sign.
Have a look through the Five Elements and see which one YOU are.
FIRE is the element of Summer and the emotion joy. Fire people enjoy laughing, telling jokes and being with other people. Fire people have a lack of what the Chinese call Heart Protector - this means things can easily hurt them. Sometimes they carry a sadness or lack of joy deeper in themselves.
EARTH is the element of sympathy. Earth people have the ability to look after other people. On one hand they can feel a bit needy and on the other, they can give love and affection like no one else. Food is important to them and they use it to comfort themselves. Earth people can also be very independent and pretend they don't need anyone.
METAL is the element of Autumn and the emotion grief. Metal people can seem a little aloof and sometimes critical. They set the highest standards for themselves and others and respect is important. They can feel claustrophobic and may have problems with their skin. They either dress perfectly or can be real slobs. They may look back to the past and feel a lack of self-esteem.
WATERis the element of Winter and the emotion fear. Water people are always on the go! They live life fast and there is never enough time. They have a drive to get things done and may like scary situations. With all this going on they sometimes feel there is no time to rest. Underneath everything they may feel that fear runs things.
WOOD is the element of Spring and the emotion of frustration. Wood people can really get out and get things done. Decisions, planning and achievements are both their strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes when they are stressed they just never get things done and can feel a sense of hopelessness.
