Multi-talented electronic singer songwriter and producer Airports (real name Aaron Lee) has unveiled his wavy new 2000's R&B inspired party jam Single Together set for release August 17th. This track comes following the release of his previous singles Limbo and Speak My Mind along with a whirlwind 12-months that has seen Airports perform at Festival One in New Zealand, produce tracks for the likes of Sammi Constantine, Holly Alison, Savilian and various major artists.
Behind his extensive creative schedule and view from the public eye, Airports has simultaneously faced the challenges of not one but two life threatening illnesses. Neither of which has been able to slow down the rising artist. "It's just part of my life" he reminds fans via a YouTube vlog, "I didn't get this far to stop going" and that he didn't. Airports has gone on to perform alongside nationally recognised artists such as Allday, Cosmo's Midnight, Thundamentals and Kuren, whilst also performing at sold out festivals and even landing a single deal in Japan.
Single Together is a soundtrack for a night out featuring an up-tempo party jam, inspired by 2000's R&B. Co-produced by Hamley (Allday, Illy, Drapht) Single Together showcases a Drake meets Gettin Jiggy Wit It vibe, filled with memorable hooks, throwback sampling and feel good chords.
An avid voice for personal development and ambassador for the mental health organisation Listen Up Music, Airports has his eyes set on influencing listeners while travelling the world and isn't afraid to take a non-conventional approach. You won't want to miss out on the upcoming announcements and new music that Airports has in store to release.
Question: What inspired the song, Single Together?
Aaron Lee: The lyric "If you're feeling some pressure, baby we can be Single Together" was one of the first hooks I wrote for the song.
Question: How does it feel to have over 248,000 Spotify streams on Limbo?
Aaron Lee: Pretty stoked that people loved Limbo (feat. Sammi Constantine) so much! Even though it's a few years old, a record label in Japan just picked it up and did a re-release.
Question: What's the story behind the name, Airports?
