Following his huge success in Melbourne Recital Centre's Great Performers series in 2016, dazzling piano virtuoso Alexander Gavrylyuk returns in November for one performance only. This is part of a National Tour. Alexander Gavrylyuk is a virtuoso in the grand manner of a Horowitz, Richter or Rubinstein – a barnstorming, red-blooded Romantic. He started learning piano at seven, moved from Ukraine to Sydney aged 13, and commenced his prize-winning career aged 15.
The young master has effortlessly transitioned from prodigy to busy international soloist whilst still in his early 30s: highlights of Gavrylyuk's extraordinary career have included concertos with the Concertgebouw, the New York Israel, and Moscow Philharmonic and Cincinnati Symphony orchestra's headlining at the Hollywood Bowl, and recitals in Budapest, London, Vienna, Moscow and Tokyo.
