Question: What inspired your collaboration?
Amber Ojeda: I have always been inspired by Davy's work. When he approached me to create this project, it was a no brainer.
Davy Nathan: Amber's voice was the inspiration for me.
Question: How would you describe your music?
Amber Ojeda: Free of gimmick, an exploration of all the layers that make us, US.
Davy Nathan: Sad songs that aim to touch, move, inspire and lift the listener.
Question: Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?
Amber Ojeda and Davy Nathan: We do. Our inspirations are all the relationships we had that didn't work.
Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?
Amber Ojeda: That's a loaded question for me; right now it's, Frank Ocean, John Mayer, Jose James and Tegan & Sara (I could really go on forever).
Davy Nathan: Regina Spektor, Fun. and Kanye West

Question: Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?
Amber Ojeda: Yes, but the music was bigger than that. Giving in to those feeling felt like I was cheating myself somehow.
Davy Nathan: Yes definitely.
Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Amber Ojeda: I love performing, but I get the biggest thrill creating the work, I geek out on words.
Davy Nathan: I enjoy being in 'the zone'. I can be there while performing or recording, so as long as the magic is there, I'm happy.
Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
Amber Ojeda: My Grandfather Jack, he had the most beautiful voice.
Davy Nathan: My grandfather and Michael Jackson.
Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Amber Ojeda: Me?! (is that too messed up to admit?)
Davy Nathan: Being a musician is a 24-hour a day job. That's the biggest challenge.
Question: What's a typical day like?
Davy Nathan: No two days are alike... But usually it's a mix of writing, practicing piano, and playing at night.
Amber Ojeda: I like to start the day with Pilates, then vocal warm-ups, then creating, writing, reading etc. Like Davy said, no two days are ever the same.
Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?
Davy Nathan: Creating from nothing.

Amber Ojeda: John Mayer

Question: What is the story behind the band's name?
Davy Nathan and Amber Ojeda: I think that sad songs can lift people. They can make a person feel like they belong, like they aren't lonely in the world.
