On Thursday July 26th, Australian indie pop darling Amy Shark took to the stage as the second artist to play MTV Unplugged Melbourne.
The stellar performance followed Gang Of Youths' epic kick-off of the television concert series at The Meat Market's Cobblestone Pavilion in Melbourne the previous night.
Surrounded by hundreds of candles, Shark performed a hauntingly beautiful set from her ARIA #1 debut album Love Monster, including her smash hits 3 x platinum Adore and platinum-selling #1 airplay single I Said Hi.
The ARIA award-winner surprised the audience with a few cover versions, including Vance Joy's Riptide and an undisputed crowd favourite: a sing-a-long of Wheatus' naughties anthem Teenage Dirtbag.
She closed the set with a nod to the gravity of filming an MTV Unplugged special, saying: "MTV Unplugged has been something I've grown up with, and it's an absolute pleasure to be doing this here in Melbourne, so thank you, everyone."
The special, MTV Unplugged Melbourne: Amy Shark will broadcast September 16 at 6pm only on MTV on Foxtel, Foxtel Now and Fetch.
You can also catch Amy on her Love Monster tour across Australia in August/September in what will be her largest Australian headline tour to date. Tickets are on sale now at www.amyshark.com
MTV Unplugged Melbourne: Amy Shark, presented by Vodka O will be the second episode of the Grammy® and Emmy® award-winning MTV Unplugged franchise ever filmed in Australia.
MTV Unplugged Melbourne is hosted by Visit Victoria. The next two acts in the 12-part series will be filmed in 2018 with artists to be revealed soon.
