Australian fitness icon Ashy Bines today launched the world tour of her wildly successful Booty Challenge in Sydney, joined 2500 women as together they broke a Guinness World Record.
Making its first stop at The Dome, Ashy Bines' Booty Tour saw fitness lovers get their heart rates up, as they were lead through a fast-paced class inspired by Ashy's sensational 28-Day Booty Challenge, one of a range of transformation programs which have helped more than 250,000 women around the world achieve their fitness goals.
Squatting til they dropped, the sea of ladies took out the Guinness World Record for the most people in one group doing squats for one minute, as Bines drew on the immense collective energy of the city's premier large-events venue, as motivated participants claimed their own piece of fitness history.
The Gold Coast-based fitness influencer has more than 3.6 million followers across social media platforms including Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram and said Booty Tour grew from her long-held desire to create a unique, live experience allowing her to connect on a more personal level with as many fans as possible.
'My intention with everything I do, and the message I share online, has always been to educate and inspire women everywhere to love and respect their bodies and to make better choices to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle," Ms Bines said.
'I am so fortunate to have established a wonderful connection with so many women around the world who do my programs, and I do have a great team behind me that works hard to maintain that level of community with online forums and 24/7 support for everyone who signs up to the programs.
'The Booty Tour is about building that next form of connection in a large group setting, where I hope to inspire as many women as possible to move their bodies."
After Sydney, the social media superstar will host Booty Tour sessions in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide before touring New Zealand, the UK, USA, Canada, and other destinations to be confirmed in 2017.
Sydney Booty Tour saw The Dome at Sydney Olympic Park become a thriving outdoor hub of loud music and endorphins, as women mostly aged between 18 to 30 completed a fun but intense 45-minute session of the most effective isometric and dynamic body-weight exercises, targeting the lower body in a format suitable for all fitness levels.
Bines said the world record attempt added an extra dimension to the once-in-a-lifetime experience for participants.
'I want to encourage women to support each other and to lift each other up, rather than be harsh and judgmental, and this was another way we could not only make the day extra special, but give women an opportunity to be part of a community and to discover what is possible when we motivate and encourage each other," Ms Bines said.
'I want to help other women to grow, and I believe that to do that, you need to be able to take risks and to step outside your comfort zone, and that is also what my programs are about."
More than 1000 excited women rushed to meet Bines at a pilot free live event held at the Gold Coast Exhibition Centre in April.
'I literally cried when I walked into that first Booty Tour on the Gold Coast because there was just so much love in the room," Ms Bines said.
'I always wanted to help people to find balance and happiness in their lives, but I never could have envisaged that we would be able to reach as many girls as we have. It is a dream come true."
Booty Tour is the latest venture for Bines, who at just 27 years old is one of Australia's most successful entrepreneurs, alongside her husband and company co-director, Steven Evans.
