The finest all-heavyweight boxing card ever to be assembled in Australia will be on show at Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Friday 4 December 2009 for the Heavyweight Explosion.

The five-fight card will feature six of Australia's top ranked heavyweight fighters including some of the biggest names in the Australian fight game. Former rugby league international John Hopoate will headline the night when he takes on fellow Sydneysider Michael Kirby for the vacant IBF Australiasian Heavyweight title.
