Question: How would you describe Sydney To The Max?
Ava Kolker: Sydney to the Max is a fun family comedy about a middle schooler Sydney who lives with her single dad Max and Grandma Judy. She goes through all of the coming of age challenges with her best friend Olive (who I play) and everytime she thinks her dad doesn't understand her, we see a flashback of Young Max when he was her age going thru something similar in the 90s. It's very funny as you see that things change such as technology but really most things stay the same.
Question: Can you tell us about Season 2 of Sydney To The Max and what your character "Olive" will be going through?
Ava Kolker: In Season 2, we introduce new family members like two of Olive's four brothers; we tackle new important issues such as Environment protection, ADHD, no child left behind, School Dances, First Crushes and so much more.
Question: How are you similar to your role of "Olive" in Sydney To The Max?
Ava Kolker: I am similar in that I am strong to my convictions and 100% loyal to my friends. I love that Olive is so consistent and unapologetically who she really is.
Question: What are your memorable moments on set filming season 2?
Ava Kolker: We had some incredible guest stars in Season 2 like Eric Allen Kramer, Krystal Joy Brown, Tom Wilson and we had some times when we would blast music in between scenes and break into dance and song and it was like a big party while the crew would reset. I have never worked in an environment that was so fun and high energy.
Question: We also hear you sing and write your own songs, can you tell us about the inspiration behind your songs "The Good Ones" and "Eventually" ?
Ava Kolker: Yes, absolutely. I wrote "The Good Ones" for the good people in my life who have always supported me and been there for me thru the ups and downs. I have found that many people come in and out of your life, but those that are steady and there no matter what, those that you can trust are the biggest gift in life. So I wrote "the Good Ones" for them to show them how much I love and appreciate them. I wrote "Eventually" when I had like a boy so much and I felt like he was the one for me. My parents told me that I should wait to date and build a strong friendship and a strong foundation and if we both feel the same way when we're 16, then we can start dating and go from a friendship to a relationship. So I put all my feelings and dreams into that song. I look forward to our story coming together when we will have it all, not now but "Eventually".
