As part Aveda's 2010 Earth Month campaign, Aveda announces their second year running the global campaign Walk for Water initiative, which acknowledges of the daily struggle of the more than one billion people around the world who do not have access to clean water.

The 6km walk represents the average distance that women in developing countries walk daily to collect water (UNICEF). One in seven people around the world do not have access to clean water which they need to live. If the current trend continues, in less than 20 years, two-thirds of the world's people will not have access to enough water (Water Treaty).

The 6k walks raise awareness, funds, and excitement of the need to protect clean water.
