Barber Shop

New release to DVD and Video to buy and rent by MGM Home Entertainment, Barber Shop explores a day in the life of a struggling business in South Side Chicago and stars multi-platinum-selling recording artist Ice Cube (Three Kings).

Barbershop also features hilarious performances by Cedric the Entertainer (Big Momma's House), winner of four Image Awards and star of his own hit network TV show Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum music artist Eve, Sean Patrick Thomas (Save the last dance), the smouldering winner of two MTV Movie Awards, Troy Garity (Bandits) and Michael Ealy.

Calvin (Ice Cube) is a would-be entrepreneur with big plans.... and running his family's barbershop isn't one of them. But when he impulsively sells the shop to a shady loan shark, he soon realises the neighborhood parlor isn't just a business - it's the heart and soul of the community. And with all eyes on him ? from his pregnant wife to the shop's unforgettable assortment of haircutters - Calvin must decide whether to cut his losses or risk everything to get his business back.

Interesting weaved story. If you ever wondered about the story behind the Barbershop in Eddie Murphy's 'Coming to America' this would pretty much explain it. An interesting outlook on life in the getto and how it centres around a long running family business of the barbershop.
