Ben Ransom Night After Night

Ben Ransom Night After Night

Have you ever had a holiday romance with someone who was the love of your life, only for them to disappear as quickly as they appeared?

That's the question Ben Ransom is asking in his latest single 'Night After Night' off the upcoming album Brave New World. And while love sometimes disappears, this little earworm won't, thanks to a Latino vibe courtesy of some of the country scene's top musicians.

With a string of #1 tracks since picking up the award for Best Male Rising Artist at the Southern Stars Awards in 2016, Ben Ransom has been putting in the yards night after night, culminating in this latest release, which is based off a real-life experience.

'It wasn't difficult at all to put this story into a song,' says Ben, 'because it's a tale so familiar and relatable that's just instantly woven into our psyche. There's that intense yearning for the 'one' person who changes your life in an instant. It comes straight from the heart.'

Recorded between Nashville and Sydney with the legendary Matt Fell as producer, the single features the exquisite guitar work of Ben Butler (Sting, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart and more), as well as Chris McHugh – the long time drummer for Keith Urban – and Rob McNelley, who plays guitar for Bob Seger and was the CMA Guitarist of the Year.

The music video, which was shot by Luke Oldknow and Electric Light Films, perfectly reflects the track's holiday feeling. That said, it wasn't filmed in an exotic location (unless you count Queanbeyan NSW as exotic). It was shot at a place called the Buffalo Bar and Grill, which Ransom describes as 'as a genuine time warp where you wouldn't believe your eyes if you just randomly stumbled upon it.'

Still functioning as a bar, some of the regulars appeared in the shoot while the dancer, Angelique, was discovered through Canberra's Flamenco Club and hijacks the video with her beauty and grace. Ransom notes that the venue owner, Vic, 'couldn't help but be dragged in to fill the role of the bar owner.'

'Night After Night' is an exciting first taste of the new album, but this is unsurprising given Ransom's history. He's opened for Tim McGraw and supported major artists including Diesel, Daryl Braithwaite, Mental as Anything, Ian Moss and Dragon, while also appearing multiple times at festivals including the Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Deni Ute Muster, Country Rocks Sydney and so many more. If it's a Brave New World he's holding to Ransom, then we're okay with it.
