Berringa has provided it's tips for creating the perfect Manuka honey facemask for your beauty routine:
Ingredients
Sometimes less is more and with this Manuka honey facemask it is definitely the case. No additional ingredients are required for this simple mask except a tub of Berringa's 220+ MGO* Manuka honey.
Method
Get prepared
Honey is sticky business, so be sure to wear an old t-shirt or top that you don't mind spilling a little bit of honey on, and have a hand towel nearby for easy access.
It is also important to pull all your hair away from your face with a hair tie or headband, ensuring that you wont have any loose strands dipping into the honey.
Open your pores
In order to ensure your pores are open, wash your face with warm water or take a hot shower ahead of applying the Manuka honey.
Apply the Manuka honey mask
You don't need heaps of honey for your mask. You will need about a tablespoon of honey, which you can apply to your face using your fingertips.
Manuka honey can sometimes crystallise over time, but don't worry, honey does this – all you have to do is pop the whole jar into a shallow bowl of warm water to allow it to loosen up again.
Leave the thin layer of Manuka honey on your face for about 20 – 30 minutes (without eating it in the process!).
Rinse
Wash off the Manuka honey using warm water so that it does not get stuck on your face. Rinse with cool water, to finish to ensure you close up your pores, and pat dry.
You skin should be left feeling soft, moisturised and super smooth!
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of Berringa's 220+ MGO Manuka honey
1 cup of oatmeal
1 teaspoon of rosewater
Method
Blend the ingredients
In a small bowl, blend the oatmeal with the honey slowly. Add the rosewater and mix until smooth.
The oatmeal acts as an additional exfoliator and cleanser for a more substantial mask.
Open your pores
Wash your face in warm water to ensure that your pores are open. You can also use the facemask straight after a hot shower as the steam also opens your pores so they are ready for when you apply the mask.
Spread the Manuka honey and oatmeal mask on your face
Similar to a regular face mask, spread the mixture of Manuka and oatmeal evenly over your face, being sure to apply it on the areas of your skin that you experience the most dark spots or impurities.
Leave on for 15 – 30minutes.
Rinse
Wash the mask off your face with warm water and a flannel. To see the benefits, be sure to use this face mask once a week for glowing skin!
The honey is available from selected health stores across Australia. For more information and stockists, visit www.berringa.com.
