Billie Rose Company With Regret Interview

North West Queensland singer-songwriter Billie Rose has created her own niche country sound; songs that reveal a sincerity and depth well beyond her young age. Billie Rose has an ever-growing list of awards and accolades including being added to ABC local, ABC Country, single premiere on Double J's Tower Of Song, went #2 on the Airit charts and her latest video was added to CMC! After a huge year releasing debut single "Company With Regret" and following up with "Wrong Kind of Right" and "Kick Her To The Curb", Billie now releases her debut EP Company With Regret alongside the feature track "Superwoman".

Having gained funding through the Australian Government Regional Flying Arts Fund, Billie headed to Sydney in 2018 to record the EP with award winning producer Matt Fell at Love Hz Studio. Billie explains, "I found the recording process quite magical, I loved every minute of it. I was quite mind blown at how much work and effort goes into it. We hear music all the time and I never realised how much time actually goes into the songs we love to listen to. I loved watching Matt and the other musicians put so much thought and energy into what they were doing. Everything was done with a 100%. I also was surprised how comfortable I felt when recording vocals. I have a whole new appreciation for music since my recording experience."

Born and raised Charters Towers, 19 year old Billie Rose has spent the last 10 years performing at Country Music Festivals all over Queensland, busking on Peel St in Tamworth and attended the CMAA Academy of Country Music in 2017 where she was coached and mentored by some of Australia's leading country music artists, musicians and songwriters. Billie explains the meaning behind "Superwoman", the first song she'd ever written. "It's about finding your inner strength to take back power when going through a breakup; rising up and becoming 'Superwoman'."

Billie's unwavering commitment to her music career has assisted her in developing her own unique soulful sound and stage presence in 2020, with the exciting young artist taking her own music on the road as part of the "Femmestomp Tour" in January, including shows at Tamworth Country Music Festival. 2021 will see Billie Rose head back into the studio. Billie Rose is a popular artist in high demand and is a musician with a bright future ahead of her!
