Released by Buena Vista Home Entertainment, 'Bionicle: The legends of Metru Nui' brings to life the biomechanical creatures that have proved to be extremely popular with young boys right across the globe. The characters are based on the popular LEGO Bionicle toy line, which in 2003 sold over 25 million units worldwide.

The action-packed epic is set in a primitive island setting, rich with a mix of languages, myths and magic, through the contemporary animation style of anime-manga. The storyline is filled with good and evil, darkness and light and heroes and villains.

The peaceful island of Metru Nui is under threat from a powerful and formidable foe. The Toa must stand together and protect the island from the ruthless Vahki as well as confront a mysterious traitor within. In a race against time, they must master new powers, demonstrate their worth to their honourable leader, retrieve the hidden Great Kanoka Disks, and rescue the inhabitants of their island city. Will they succeed or will darkness prevail?
