When love turns from chaste to chased!
Author A.M. Jaxon has been head coach for top Australian Master's women's hockey teams. Now, she's bringing the same fierce determination to her other passion: writing romance laced with sophisticated seduction and edge-of-your-seat suspense.
'I love the twists and turns of a good suspense wrapped around a romantic heart. It's not that dissimilar to coaching hockey in that it's problem-solving and trying to understand people's (team's/opposition teams) strengths and weaknesses.' A.M. Jaxon
In A.M. Jaxon's latest novel Saoirse's Story, Love Actually meets Big Little Lies, asking, 'How far would you go to reclaim your life?'
'There is nothing like the sound of a gunshot. Standing only feet away from a firing gun, your body becomes churning liquid and your nerves are a million hot razors trying to explode through your skin. Then there's the ringing, a high-pitched numbing that oscillates through your ears and hammers your skull, lasting far longer than the shot.
'In that instant, when the bullet leaves the gun, it can take a life"rarely does it begin one.'
Two gunshots. Two continents. One fateful day in January 1997.
In Ireland, Saoirse Mahoney walks into a bank and straight into an armed robbery. That day, she decides she'll do whatever it takes to leave her small-town life behind.
In Australia, when Daniella Malone is told a single bullet has taken the life of her husband, Ryan, a police officer, she vows not to try to make sense of his death, but to work to lessen the number of women who die at the hands of men.
Their worlds are about to collide.
Saoirse lands in Brisbane, determined to reinvent herself.
As a legal secretary for Daniella, she finds not just a mentor in the widowed lawyer, but an unbreakable bond.
When the unhinged office IT geek Chad Merritt begins an unhealthy fixation on Saoirse, she realises she needs Daniella's help more than ever.
'The world might consider them weaker, but women are strong in many ways. And if they feel alone and beaten down, there are people who will support and fight for them. That's why Chad Merritt picked the wrong bitch to mess with. "Make that, bitches." Daniella clinked her glass to Saoirse's.'
Saoirse continues to throw herself into her new life but struggles to escape the weight of her past.
Just as she finds real love, an unstoppable hatred reemerges to hunt her again. Old betrayals, past lovers and hidden enemies threaten to destroy everything she's worked for…
With nowhere left to run, she must make a choice"break or rise and become the woman she was always meant to be.
Saoirse's journey intertwines with the stories of seven other women"each battling their own demons, addictions, and pasts.
Their stories blend together in a powerful testament to strength and sisterhood.
Love Connections: Saoirse's Story isn't just about romance"it's about resilience. It's about women taking back power, embracing their sexuality, facing their fears, and fighting for their freedom. It's about revenge, redemption, and the unpredictable ways love finds us in the midst of chaos.
While this book stands alone, Saoirse's Story is just the beginning; the adventure continues in The Love Connection: Joshua's Story.

Allison Rieck, who writes as A.M. Jaxon grew up on a farm on the outskirts of an idyllic, occasionally dodgy small town in late 70s tropical Queensland. She had no idea other children didn't grow up as she did, with the freedom to run barefoot through the bush, swim in freshwater creeks, and have all sorts of wildlife come to visit.
Before working around the world, Allison studied pharmacy in Brisbane, and later in 2010 gained a PhD in Business from the University of Western Australia. After a career in business and academia, she finally followed her passion and started writing romantic suspense novels from her home in Perth, Western Australia. Since 2014, she has written six novels, with the different paths she's taken in life and her many adventures and misadventures giving each one a unique edge.
Allison is a passionate hockey coach, having been head coach for several women's international Masters and Premier One world-class hockey teams since 2015, coaching at World Cups in Barcelona, Rotterdam, Canberra and Trans-Tasman championships, as well as locally in Perth.
Allison writes about resilient women of all backgrounds who endure what life throws at them. Enjoying the romantic suspense genre, she loves highlighting the complexity of human nature, its most uplifting qualities and more dangerous aspects, as well as all its glorious frailties.
