On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March 2015, Gloria Jean's coffee houses around Australia will join forces with Variety – the Children's Charity, to help build the futures of Aussie kids in need at its sixth Cappuccino for a Cause event.
This year, Gloria Jean's Coffees announced that it will double its donation from the sale of the first 65,000 cappuccinos on 20 and 21 March. So, over the two days, a total of $1 from every cappuccino sold will go straight to Variety – the Children's Charity*.
What's more for the month of March, Gloria Jean's Coffees will also be donating 40c from the sale of each chocolate heart cupcake, giving guests another opportunity to help raise funds for local kids and give them the chance to overcome whatever obstacles they face and live life to the fullest.
The money raised will go to helping kids like twelve year old twins, Joanne and Julian who have Cerebral Palsy, and were selected to represent the Targeting Tokyo Shadow Squad (the Paralympic Preparation Program) for Boccia, in 2014. The Variety Scholarship, supported by funds from Gloria Jean's Coffees, has allowed the twins to have one-on-one sessions with a Boccia coach, improving their skills and their futures.
Coffee lovers nationwide can help Gloria Jean's Coffees make a difference to Aussie kids in need by simply buying a cappuccino at their local Gloria Jean's coffee house.
Angela Saleh, founder of Gloria Jean's Coffees With Heart Foundation, said: 'We're so pleased to be announcing Cappuccino for a Cause is back and this year it's bigger and better than ever before! We want all Aussies to come down to their local Gloria Jean's coffee house and get involved in the campaign to help kids like Joanne and Julian reach for the stars."
Tam Johnston, CEO, and Variety – the Children's Charity NSW said: 'We are very grateful for the support of Gloria Jean's Coffees and their staff, for their commitment to helping Aussie kids with unmet needs to achieve their full potential. I'd like to urge Australians to get behind this wonderful initiative and be a superhero for Aussie kids in need by grabbing a cappuccino on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March to make a difference.
'On behalf of all the lives helped, thank you to Gloria Jean's Coffees and their patrons for your generous support."
Over the last four years, Gloria Jean's Coffees has raised over half a million dollars for Variety - the Children's Charity. The funds raised have been used to improve the lives of Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, helping them overcome the obstacles they face and live life to the fullest.
