As part of Queensland Week celebrations across the state, Eumundi Markets will host a CELEBRATE QUEENSLAND @EUMUNDI MARKETS morning of fun and festivities on Saturday 7 June from 10am – 12.30pm.
Market Manager Peter Homan says Eumundi Markets will be getting its -Queensland on' to celebrate the things we love about living in the sunshine state.
'Our program will be jam packed with family fun and games – with everything from pony rides and working dog shows to pineapple throwing and thong toss competitions," Peter says. 'The biggest throws of the day stand to win a $100 voucher to spend at the markets".
'And make sure you're here at 10am for a FREE morning tea featuring the biggest lamington Eumundi's ever seen, along with billy tea, sugar cane juice and a sausage sizzle," he says.
The celebration will also feature a 'Welcome to Country' and Indigenous story telling by Lyndon Davis and the Gubbi Gubbi dancers; an historic display by Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Information Centre featuring Queensland and local Eumundi history; a re-enactment of the reading of the Queensland Proclamation led by Councillor Greg Rogerson, a display from Buderim Ginger and live music.
