Julie Isabel Bishop (born 17 July 1956) is an Australian politician serving as Minister for Foreign Affairs since 2013 and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party since 2007.
After working at law firm Clayton Utz, Bishop was elected to the Australian House of Representatives at the 1998 federal election for the seat of Curtin in Western Australia. She subsequently served in the Howard Government as the Minister for Ageing from 2003 to 2006, and as both Minister for Education and Science and Minister for Women from 2006 to 2007.
