Saturday 16th October 2010 marks 200 years of racing in Australia and whilst Melbourne may be home to the race that stops the nation, Sydney can lay claim to the birth place of racing in Australia. When winners race past the winning post, they'll be running in the city where it all began exactly 200 years ago.
To celebrate this milestone, Royal Randwick will be hosting a family fun day which will see trackside lawns transformed in to a kids' wonderland. Think Kids' Fashions on the Field, jumping castles, pony rides, face painting, clowns, an interactive circus and a giant birthday cake to celebrate racing's 200th birthday.
Mum and Dad can enjoy the usual sophisticated trappings a day at the track has to offer including quality racing and a historical racing exhibition, whilst the little ones can indulge in the free games and entertainment on offer at Royal Randwick.
