New Year, New You: Change it up this summer with ColourB4

There comes a time in every woman's life when she wakes up, looks in the mirror, and wants an image change. Perhaps you're bored with wearing the same hair style you've adopted since your 20's, or perhaps the colour or cut doesn't seem as contemporary or flattering as it once was.

A new year is dawning and what better time to don a new hair style?  Resident ColourB4 Colour Consultant and Trichologist, Mandy Baldwin shares the hottest cuts, colours and expert tips to create a new look for 2015:

Pop of Colour

Hair colour is central to creating a successful look according to Mandy, who says the new season promotes natural hair tones. If you want to look extravagant you can experiment with slight pastel hair highlights – think lilac, peach or mint. The look can be easily achieved with some subtle balayage or soft highlights blended into your existing colour.

Expert Tip: Should the colour not take your fancy you can remove hair dye with ColourB4. The leading UK hair remover product removes unwanted colour safely by shrinking the dye molecules, which are then rinsed away, restoring your previous colour. And if you wish, you can also immediately re-colour with a more natural hue.

Unstructured and Relaxed

Those with unruly kinks and curls will love the new season, which favours casually loose hair.  Yes, less is more in 2015, with simpler hair styles the best way to make a statement in the season ahead.

Expert Tip: The trick is to let your hair dry naturally. If you have mid to longer length hair, gather up your hair into a loose bun to dry, and simply let it out when you are ready to hit the town.

The Bob

Style wise, short bobs are seeing a big come back. Personalities such as Lara Bingle are among those to recently have the chop. Whether your bob has a soft wavy texture or a sharp precise finish, this trend is set to continue well through summer.

Expert Tip: A bob is not for everyone, nor will it work with all hair types, so be sure to consult your hairdresser as to whether this trend suits you. For those not game to have a dramatic cut, go for a heavy blunt edge on a mid-length style.

Centre Part or Side Swept Hair

Your hair part is paramount, irrespective of whether it is for a stylish do or a loose look. In line with the uber-trendy center hair parting, the 2015 hairstyle trends also include side-swept hair looks. Remember, the center hair parting isn't a universally flattering option for every face shape and style so see which one works for you.

Expert Tip: For a flawlessly natural looking part, be sure to create it while you have wet hair so your strands will dry in place.
