SYNOPSIS:
"The Manual of Love" chronicles the events that many couples go through in their lives. It's a love story, observed through a kaleidoscope of colours depicting the four phases of love: "Falling in Love", "the Crisis", "the Betrayal" and "the Abandonment".

The phases of "Manual" are chronicled through four episodes, each one played out by a different couple. All four of their stories are both normal and extraordinary, sweet and ironic, romantic and amusing. Colourful as a kaleidoscope, thrilling like love.

Tommaso (Silvio Muccino) and Giulia (Jasmine Trinca) go through the process of "falling in love": first date, first kiss, incredible sex, living together, getting married.

Barbara (Margherita Buy) and Marco (Sergio Rubini) are experiencing their first "crisis" after a long-term relationship: will a child help them overcome it?

Ornella (Luciana Littizzetto) is shattered by a dramatic "betrayal" that she is determined to overcome with unexpected strength and energy, focused in her fight against a global enemy: man.

Goffredo (Carlo Verdone) comes to grips with "abandonment". He is so unprepared to face this, the first big tragedy of his life, that he relies on an audio-book reassuringly entitled "The Manual of Love", which offers advice to the broken-hearted.

This movie, based on an idea by Vincenzo Cerami, was written by Giovanni Veronesi and Ugo Chiti. "The Manual of Love" explores the mysterious and incomprehensible recesses of human heart where misbegotten love affairs, family tragedies, eternal romances and ephemeral relationships can leave indelible marks and deep scars. This is a journey that speaks about us, all of us.

After his successful "Che ne sarĂ di noi", Giovanni Veronesi is back with a movie that pays tribute to the big Italian comedies directed by Scola and Risi, a multi-faceted film where the characters, their adventures, Rome (the city they live in) fully represent the viewer's reality.
