Mattel Australia & New Zealand has announced the biggest doll launch of the year, which is expected to spark a craze amongst girls in 2011. The "frighteningly fashionable" Monster High&trade dolls will be available in-store from 1 April, but you have the chance to get them here first!

More "scary cute" than freaky, Monster High appeals to a younger mainstream audience by bringing together the hip teenage descendants of the world's most famous monsters to brave the "horrors" of high school.

The franchise kicked-off in Australia in September 2010 with the first Monster High novel, from the author of the New York #1 Bestseller teen series The Clique, Lisi Harrison. The novel is a page-turner that offers a fresh twist on romance, teen angst and the challenges of fitting in. The second Monster High book called "The Ghoul Next Door" will be released in April to coincide with the Monster High doll launch.
