My lips feel like they are going to fall off my face. They peel all the time and are very dry. My lipstick goes all cakey and I have to reapply it lots as my lips are so dry. Do you have any suggestions for smooth lips?

Hi Desperate Lips
*Beauty Doc tip:
To keep lips soft and smooth, exfoliate regularly and use a conditioning lip balm each morning and night.
A great way to keep your lips in tip top shape is to gently exfoliate (2-3 times a week if they are in need of extra care during windy winter days). After applying your lip balm, use a soft brush and gently rotate over your lips. Exfoliating rough skin off your lips will leave them soft, smooth and free of those unsightly flakes. This is easy to do in the shower, and if your lip balm isn't handy, a creamy cleanser works just as well. Always apply more lip balm when you have finished, to protect and condition your soft lips!
Smooth lips will help your lipstick glide on and last longer. Use creamy lipsticks, as matte lipsticks tend to be more drying and if your lips are already flaky, matte lipsticks clump on the flakes making your lips look lumpy. If you are really into mattes, then apply lipbalm first and your lipstick will go on more freely.
Lip glosses are a good option for you, as they have a more "liquid" consistency - go for lip glosses that contain natural oils that will work to nourish your lips, while you look good!!

If your lips are split, use a medicated lip balm or chap stick to heal them, then start your exfoliating routine, and always carry lip balm with you!
