A seafood barbecue with a difference will be a key highlight of the Crave Sydney International Food Festival, presented by Citibank, as it launches state-wide this weekend.
Along with more than 80 fresh food stalls, selling everything from seasonal fruit and vegetables to poultry, pastries and great coffee, the monthly Sydney Morning Herald Growers' markets at Pyrmont will bring together 10 of Sydney's leading chefs, each presenting his take on sustainable seafood.
The line-up includes:
Steve Hodges from Fish Face, Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide's Best Seafood Restaurant (cooking Boston Bay mussels).
Richard Ptacnik from Otto Ristorante (grilling rainbow trout).
Warren Turnbull from Assiette (two hats in the current Good Food Guide) with his misomarinated king salmon.
Massimo Mele from Hugo's, searing spectacular grilled octopus.
Darren Robertson, former head chef at Tetsuya's, cooking an amazing spanner crab dish.
