Dark Mofo 2017 Winter Feast

Friday 9–Sunday 11 June, 4pm–10pm
Thursday 15–Sunday 18 June, 4pm–10pm

Dark Mofo organisers have announced that the Dark Mofo and City of Hobart Winter Feast will expand to seven nights across two weekends during Mona's winter solstice festival.

Now in its fifth year, the Winter Feast will welcome revelers from Friday 9 June to Sunday 11 June, and again for a second weekend, Thursday 15 June - Sunday 18 June, with the final night offering free entry, including Dark Mofo's annual ogoh-ogoh parade across to Dark Park for the burning ceremony.

The Winter Feast has become a national pilgrimage for food-lovers and cultural travellers, delivering an annual midwinter banquet that takes over Hobart's historic waterfront, encompassing Princes Wharf, Castray Esplanade and Salamanca Lawns. It's a contemporary take on the medieval heathen harvest, luring the community out of their cosy caves and into the night to eat, drink, commune and celebrate as the longest night of the year approaches in Australia's southernmost city.

Attracting up to 10,000 people a night in previous years, 2017's Winter Feast also welcomes 2000 new interstate visitors, as the six-night P&O Dark Mofo cruise docks in Hobart, with entry to the Feast as a highlight of the cruise itinerary.
