One fifth of the Australian population believes that money does make the man or woman giving credence to the saying that money does talk according to a survey of 1,960 people carried out by recruitment giant, Talent2.
The survey also revealed that 16.9% of respondents say they find wealthy people far more attractive than those in Struggle Street but 83.6% said wealth is not what makes a person attractive.
But, says Danielle de Guara of Talent2, opinions are sharply divided when it comes to whether employees respect their boss more if he/she is wealthy.
"3.1%of all respondents said they would respect their boss more if he/she was wealthy."
"However, 25% of CEO?s said they admire and respect their superiors more if they have made money and are successful compared to only 10.6% of administration/clerical workers who admit that their boss? wealth impacts positively on their opinion."
"Contrary to expectations, 21.9% of respondents said they would NOT like to earn what their boss earns, preferring instead lower paying jobs for lower stress levels."
"Males are more likely to want to take home the same pay packet as their boss than their female counterparts whilst females are far more attracted by wealth than males."
