An outrageous late-night cabaret, rollicking in gender f*#kery, dripping with charm, and loaded with belly fire. Not a cis, straight, white male in sight but deeply inspired by them, Dudebox is a barrage of the best physical comedy, performance art, drag, music and neo-burlesque debuting at Melbourne Fringe 2018. Guaranteed to sell out, this cabaret runs for three nights only from September 26th - 28th.
Kimberley Twiner, creator of award winning queer physical comedy group PO PO MO CO, unites the talents of The Travelling Sisters (Melbourne Fringe Comedy Award 2018), Lily Fish (PO PO MO CO), Becky Lou (Seen and Heard Cabaret), Selina Jenkins (Beau Heartbreaker), Hallie Goodman (Spoon Monkeys), Sharnema Nougar (Two Little Dickheads), and Viktoria Secretions (Max Freak) in this ode to all things 'dude'.
Kimberley says 'Let's be honest, there's no money in putting up cabaret or variety nights, but I love them, it's for total pleasure. I love what a performer can do to an audience in a five minute window. More than that I love bringing fiercely intelligent physical performers together for a totally queered up, sophisticated, neo-vaudeville experience that is anything BUT didactic. Dudebox couldn't be more timely.'
WARNING: May contain queer babes, facial hair, impotent car salesmen, plumbers' cracks and jock strapped chaos.
