How we feel and what we think about other people, all comes down to what our expectations are. In other words, it is how we want people to behave towards us.
If we give them a present, we expect them to like it. If we do something nice for them, we expect them to say thank you. If we become sick, we expect them to take care of us. If we feel sad and hurt, we expect them to care and sympathise with us.
If they don't do these things, then somehow we believe they're not our kind of people and they get pushed away, shunned or forgotten about.
We need to try to understand that people come from all different walks of life. Their upbringing, beliefs, principles and ways of life therefore are going to be different from yours. And it's these differences we need to try to accept, as we would hope they would towards us.
Inside in each and every one of us, is the desire to be loved and accepted. It's not wrong to expect love and acceptance, but if we try to enforce it upon others, it won't always happen. And if our expectations are not curbed with tolerance, forgiveness, love and understanding, then we may find that we don't have too many friends.
Our guardian angels try to help us by encouraging goodness inside you to come forward, and to continually try to love others for who and what they are.
They give us four words to keep in mind each day and they are PEACE, LOVE, TRANQUILITY and PATIENCE.
If you ask them, at the beginning of each day, to help us work with these four words in our hearts and minds; when we deal with people at home, work, on the phone; or no matter what the situation is, or the way they may speak or behave, you may find that things may work out better for you.
It will take practice and effort to continually work at this but remember you are doing it for yourself to help you accept others.
Just try to remember not to expect others to behave the same.
May you find your guardian angel, try to love all things and peace be with you.
Both Judy Palmer and myself hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with Love and Happiness.
