Facing Your Fears

There are times in your life when you feel you are losing control and your fears seem insurmountable. You wonder if you are going to lose control completely and have an anxiety or panic attack.

Fear can feel very real to those who suffer with it, but fear is actually false evidence, appearing real and the only way you can get on top of it, is to look straight at it.

Most people could walk along a plank, laying on the ground, but gradually raising the height of the plank from the ground, would slowly eliminate people who would believe they will fall. There really isn't any difference in walking along the plank, but people's perceptions of the task at hand, may seem different. It comes down to your own belief mechanism.

What we need to look at is the task and try to work out how we can come to terms with it. We need to ask ourselves what the dynamics are that create our own fear, and ask ourselves is it real? We know it is possible to walk along that plank, it's just that the conditions have changed. If we can come to terms with the new conditions and slowly condition ourselves by raising the plank a little at a time, until we get used to each new condition, then there is no reason why we could not walk across it in our own time, as it gets higher.

You often hear people say, "you can do it" and you can, but what is important is that you do it under your own conditions.

There are of course, some things you have no control over. The trick is to try to understand that you have no control over the situation and accept the fact or walk away from it with the knowledge that you know you cannot control it, but you can control yourself. If you can control yourself, then fear will not overtake you.

Try to say to yourself, "I know I can't do anything about this and it may cause embarrassment (if I let it) or cost me, but I'm still OK and I needn't let this get to me. I give up".

Giving up does not mean giving in, it just means you have a perception of the reality. Clearing your mind this way then leaves you free to look ahead, as to how you can work things out.

When you need help, try to remember to ask your guardian angel to help you think things through. Try to find a quiet place, wear something comfortable, put on some soothing music and allow yourself to relax. They will be there for you.

Everything sorts itself eventually, and sometimes earlier, if we try not to get too involved ourselves.

May you find your guardian angel, try to love all things, and peace be with you.....
