First look at Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows

Nowhere Boys fans are in for an exciting treat today with the release of the trailer for the feature Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows.

The highly anticipated first look trailer gives fans a peek at what they can expect during the 82 minute movie – more action, drama, suspense and magic, plus their much-loved four lead characters.

The movie picks up a year after Felix (Dougie Baldwin), Jake (Matt Testro), Sam (Rahart Adams) and Andy (Joel Lok) crossed dimensions, discovered magic and battled the restoring demon.

They're now back home in Bremin and are struggling with everyday teenage life. Felix has high hopes for the four heroes. He wants them to push the limits of their magical ability, working as a team to become masters of the arcane. But although he's unwilling to admit it, the boys have grown apart. Once in perfect magical and elemental alignment, the boys are now a tangle of rivalry and distrust.

On the verge of separating, the Nowhere Boys are drawn together for one last spell when Felix discovers a magically sealed 'Book of Shadows'. Unwittingly this releases a powerful force of chaos, and the gang is reluctantly drawn into a showdown that threatens their world and all they love…

Produced by Beth Frey for Matchbox Pictures, the film is directed by David Caesar (Dirty Deeds, Idiot Box, Mullet), created by Tony Ayres (Cut Snake, The Slap, Glitch) and written by Tony Ayres, Rhys Graham and Craig Irvin. Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows will be released theatrically by The Backlot Films in association with Matchbox Pictures.

Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows is a Matchbox Pictures production in association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and with the financial assistance of Screen Australia, Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Film Victoria. It will be distributed internationally by NBCUniversal and in Australian and New Zealand (Non-theatrical) by the Australian Children's Television Foundation.

Kicking off 2016 with a bang, Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows will premiere in cinemas nationwide from Friday, January 1, 2016, and will have its television debut on ABC3 soon after.
