Melbourne Poets Union panel discussion: The place where we grew up and left behind continues to occupy a special place in our heart. Revisiting it is an experience which often awakes conflicting emotions, especially for those who have fled war or persecution, or who, as children, had no choice about leaving. Arnold Zable, in his latest novel, Sea of many returns, has written movingly about the experience. A panel of five writers and a moderator will explore this theme through commentary and through reading of their work. This will be followed by questions and comments from the audience, member reading and an open reading.
