Backstage at Milan Fashion Week with Sam McKnight, Global Stylist Ambassador for Pantene Pro-V, Milan Spring Summer 2011.
The Show: Moschino Cheap and Chic
The Hair: Fresh and fun
Loose buns all tied and twisted up with beautiful bright silk scarves.
The Inspiration: "The Moschino Cheap & Chic girl has this crazy, young, colourful vibe," says Sam McKnight, Global Stylist Ambassador for Pantene. "She just loves to have fun and is fresh and energetic, which comes through in the Moschino Cheap & Chic hair look for Spring/Summer 2011".
Get The Look
1. Sam McKnight Global Stylist Ambassador for Pantene advises preparing hair by firstly washing and conditioning using Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner to create the perfect base. "Key to the look is volume at the crown to build a base for the loose bun," says Sam who started by working Pantene Pro-V Body Builder Mousse through from roots to ends.
2. Next, blow-dry hair using a large round brush, concentrating on building volume at the roots by lifting hair vertically from the head. To create texture at the crown, back-brush the hair from a few inches away from the head to the roots.
3. Then, create a ponytail using a no-snag elastic band secured a few inches away from the head, so that the hair hangs loosely around it. Twist the ends of the ponytail and pin into a bun. "The overall effect should appear soft and light," says Sam. "This isn't a tightly pulled look."
4. To accessorise the style, Sam twisted Moschino Cheap & Chic scarves into ropes, then either wound them around the head like an Alice-band, coiled them around buns, or twisted them under and over the buns.
5. Finally, Sam gave a nod to the energy and movement of this look by pulling wisps of hair loose to give the effect of a soft, light flyaway style.
