Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra 3 Minute Anxiety Fix Interview

1 in 4 Women and 1 in 5 Men Experience Anxiety

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, anxiety is the most common mental health issue among Australians, with 1 in 4 women and 1 in 5 men experiencing the illness at some stage in their lives. As the year draws to a close and the silly season begins, the pressures of a busy modern life begin to intensify, causing anxiety and other mental health issues to bubble to the surface.

Anxiety, like most illnesses, can range from mild right through to debilitating, yet there are very few established methods of relief outside of the pharmaceutical realm.

Author, hypnotist and the brains behind the internationally successful Drink Less Mind, Georgia Foster has developed the 3 Minute Anxiety Fix to provide a simple and effective way to reduce anxiety levels and help those suffering from the illness to lead more enjoyable lives.

According to Georgia Foster, she developed the program in conjunction with her sister Virginia Alexandra, who is a trained opera singer and breathing expert, with the idea of combining a series of exercises that are known to create calm and inner peace during times of high anxiety.

'Everything you need to do has been put into this program so you can enjoy healthier and more supportive thoughts, emotionally and physically to achieve a greater everyday calm.

'We have taken a multi-disciplined approach in one manageable program – Breath work with mind calming techinques that train the mind and body to enjoy life now more and trust in the future," said Foster

The 3 Minute Anxiety Fix is a fast and easily accessible method of coping with anxiety that can be accomplished privately. The program, which can be purchased, downloaded and accessed online anywhere in the world, combines unique breathing and psychological exercises that have shown to reduce anxiety in just three minutes per session.

Ongoing stressful events are among the main causes of anxiety and are accentuated by the events surrounding the Christmas period. Pressures such as high stress jobs, financial hardship, family and relationship problems and changes in living arrangements are common issues that result in feelings of inadequacy and hopelessness during the summer months. Many Australians find these pressures unavoidable in modern society which has resulted in Australia ranking among the highest in the World and in the Western Pacific Region in rates of anxiety.

The 3 Minute Anxiety Fix includes:
Three life changing talks
Three powerful self-hypnosis recordings
Six three-minute breathing techniques shown change the chemistry of the brain
The Stress Less Mind eBook and mp3 recording

Question: What is the 3 Minute Anxiety Fix program?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: The 3 Minute Anxiety Fix is a comprehensive anxiety reduction downloadable program designed to calm you down within 3 minutes.

The creators of the program renowned Hypnotherapist Georgia Foster and Breath expert Virginia Alexandra have helped people overcome their anxiety issues with various techniques for over 22 years.

This program is for people who have regular bouts of negative thinking, low level on-going anxiety to full blown panic attacks.

The goal is within 3 minutes the mind and body are in a calm and logical space where a feeling of emotional safety can occur. The more frequent someone experiences the sensations of feeling centred and grounded the more the mind becomes familiar with it. The domino effect is, the mind and body create a new healthier well- balanced approach to life, even through challenging moments.

Question: What's involved in the 3 Minute Anxiety Fix program?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: The Three Minute Anxiety Fix contains three 25 minute hypnosis recordings and 6 three-minute breath patterns. Breath work for three minutes each morning strengthens the central nervous system, relaxes the mind and brings clarity of thought. The body has an amazing ability to heal its self if you give it the right tools. When it comes to anxiety, it's a little of the chicken and egg syndrome if the body is in continuous state of high alert then uncomfortable and negative thoughts follow.

The hypnosis recordings focus on the negative self-talk that creates anxiety in the first place. A positive inner conversation supports a calmer and logical approach to life. Another key aspect of people with anxiety is they worry about the future. No one has a crystal ball, but the mind can play games and pretend it does. The last hypnosis recording is training the mind and body to look into the future with more trust, so what ever happens you are prepared for a better result than the negative mind has created.

The goal is with the combined hypnosis and breathing techniques, people can have instant calm and on-going inner coping strategies so they can feel safe in the here and now and their future.

Question: What inspired you to create this program?
Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: Sad but true anxiety is not something people like to admit to and yet in our clinic work we know it is extremely common. The good news is with the right tools it is easily resolved.

The inspiration for the 3 Minute Anxiety Fix came about when we found the combined techniques were very effective in reducing anxiety in ourselves as well as our clients.

There are many people who go into traditional therapy and want to learn the -why' anxiety was created. For some this works well, however, we believe that the -why' is not so important because anxiety is habit - a conditioned response. We like to help people to move on, so they can be free to enjoy life from past out of date negative thinking.

We know our clients are in a hurry to move on, so these techniques are quick and effective and the domino effect is their self-esteem improves, their energy is better and general emotional wellbeing is stabilised.

Question: Are you able to share one of the methods used in the 3 Minute Anxiety Fix program?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: One of the most effective ways to calm yourself down is to use your breath properly. The quality of your breath will determine your level of anxiety. Most people are unaware they breathe incorrectly. On the inhale belly comes out and returns towards the spine when exhaling. One of breath pattern featured in the 3 Minute Anxiety fix is called Sitali Breath is particularly benficial for correcting the breath. Instructions are as below:

Sit in a chair with your spine straight and close your eyes and focus between the brows. Curl your tongue if you can't do this precede with a flat tongue. Inhale through the curled tongue and make sure the belly comes out. Breath in as much air as you can, hold for a second then close the mouth and exhale through the nose. Continue for three minutes.

Question: What is self-hypnosis and how does it help with anxiety?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: Hypnosis is one of the most effective methods to reduce anxiety because it goes to the core of where emotional habits are stored. If someone is anxious, it is their negative thinking that is driving it. The 3 Minute Anxiety program re-trains the mind to tune out of negative thoughts and feelings and connect to the calm, logical personality that takes life in its stride.

Unlike traditional forms of therapy, hypnosis is a brilliant tool to help someone move on from unhelpful and unwanted emotional habits quickly and effectively without long term therapy.

Question: How does the Christmas season increase anxiety?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: Christmas is a particularly anxious time for many people. There are a multitude of reasons for this such as estranged families; finances and loneliness just to mention a few. It can be an extremely difficult time if a major death has occurred during the year or a relationship has broken up. Alongside this it is a time when we force ourselves to appear happier than we may be.

Question: What advice do you have for those who experience anxiety more so, during busy periods?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: If you are experiencing a great of amount of anxiety due to being overwhelmed with the demands of a busy life, one of the most advantageous tips is to take one step at a time. Make a list of priorities and start with the most important and work down. Sometimes we put ourselves under more pressure than is necessary without realising we sweat the small stuff too often. Also the mind tends to play on negative thinking and this can trigger unnecessary anxiety.

Keep a daily gratitude diary that reminds you of the good aspects of your life and how lucky you are.

Keep a song on your phone that makes you instantly happy that you can play when you feeling a little fearful or negative about life. It will give you a quick lift emotionally and put you back on an even keel.

Question: Do you have a morning routine, can you share it with us?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: Virginia Alexandra: I do breathing for 11 minutes, yoga and mediation everyday.

Georgia Foster : I do daily self-hypnosis, where I imagine before my day starts good things happening and seeing the end of the day feeling happy with how I have handled the daily challenges of life.

Question: Current favourite quote at the moment is:

Virginia Alexandra: Virginia: -You are alive by breath, you are a product of breath, and your realisation is through breath. The moment you are in touch with your breath, the universe pours into you'. Yogi Bhajan.

Georgia Foster : Be purposeful, be patient, be active and grateful.

Question: What's next, for you?

Georgia Foster and Virginia Alexandra: We are looking at expanding into the American market where anxiety is at an all time high. We are also going to be running regular anxiety reduction seminars around Australia.
