Hailing from Sydney, Australian DJ GG Magree has been a constant name in Sydney's music and nightlife scene and with new music to be released this year, she is set to dominate globally as Australia's fast rising female DJ – a face to watch in 2016.

GG Magree's passion for hip hop, trap and house party genres combined with her talent as a DJ has already landed her industry notoriety and continual global gigs in Hong Kong, Bali, Jakarta, India, Thailand, Philippines, Australia and Japan. Signed to NUFFSAID, GG has DJ'd as support to the likes of Pharrell Williams, T-Pain, Azaelia Banks, Wu-Tang Clan, Naughty by Nature, Die Antwoord and toured nationally with Rudimental and Rita Ora.

Not stopping there, GG has also conquered the worlds of fashion, festivals and radio. She has played for brands including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Adidas and Topshop; festivals such as FutureMusic Festival, Splendor in the Grass and Stereosonic; and a regular on radio station KIIS FM and 2DayFM's Party People.

As well as dominating the music world as a fast rising female DJ, GG Magree is a passionate 'girl-gang leader" and an advocate for women, expressing female empowerment through her popular fashion brand, Yeah Pussy. She has a strong social media presence and her fashion label is sold globally and worn not only by herself but other successful women who are leading their industries. Celebrities such as Rita Ora, Vanessa Hudgens, Jessie Andrews, Katy Perry and Sahara Ray have embraced the brand and the values it represents.


Interview with GG Magree

Question: What inspired you to begin DJing?

GG Magree: It's really something that I fell into! I've always loved music and I love performing! I love making people have a good time.


Question: What's a typical day like, for you?

GG Magree: I wake up and hit the gym, either head to my studio or to my office to work on my label, Yeah Pussy and then catch up with friends before heading to a gig.


Question: What's your inspiration when DJing?

GG Magree: My aim every set is to make people dance till they are sore! I like to see sweat!


Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?

GG Magree: I love Bryson Tiller, Sade, Blink 182 and also loving Aussie boys, Rufus' new album.


Question: What was it like supporting Pharrell Williams?

GG Magree: He's such an icon so the fact I was put on the same stage as him is a huge achievement!


Question: Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?

GG Magree: Never! I'm so lucky and so grateful to be able to do what I love every day! I'm extremely blessed.


Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?

GG Magree: I like them both in there own way! There is nothing satisfying then creating your own music baby and then playing it out loud for people! Watching their reactions is like jumping out of plane! I get SOOOO nervous.


Question: How would you describe Yeah Pussy?
GG Magree: It's for all the boss ass woman out there, who are fearless and motivated to take over the world!


Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?

GG Magree: Creating my own sound musically! When you are branding yourself with what people want you to be known for! I do all the vocals on my tracks also so it's been a big challenge for me to break through and discover myself! I'M SO SO SO SO EXCITED to get it out! I'm really proud of the project!


Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?

GG Magree: I've made so many amazing friends! I tour with Rita Ora and now she's a really close friend! It's also so nice to see other artist supporting each other!


Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

GG Magree: Skrillex; for me musically he's it!
