Prospective parents and pupils are invited to explore and discover the German International School Sydney (GISS) campus and get a feel for student life during the Open Day.   The hands-on day is an opportunity to talk to staff, view classrooms and tour the ever expanding school grounds.   Curious kids and interested parents will learn about the broad range of exciting subjects and extra-curricular activities available alongside the obvious language opportunities, but also witness how the school fosters close parent-teacher and teacher-student relationships with workable class sizes and personal teaching techniques.
While GISS prides itself on providing the highest quality co-education in a continuous bilingual environment, prospective families will be happy to learn that knowledge of the German language is not a pre-requisite at any age of the new student.  GISS boasts a concentrated language immersion programme which leads to bilingual competency in English and German for all years.  With active French and Spanish lessons introduced from Years 6 for French and 9 for Spanish.  The Open Day is an opportunity for parents to discover the benefits of a bilingual education and to see first-hand the specialised and unique multi-lingual educational programmes GISS has to offer potential students.
GISS students learn together in a nurturing environment supported by a balanced and shared curriculum which is fully compliant with both the NSW Board of Studies and the German authorities. Our dynamic team of 40+ dedicated teachers strive to develop each student's full potential for their academic success during their school years as well as their personal development for life beyond school.
