Gorman Autumn Winter 09
Gorman's Autumn Winter 2009 'Forest Lines' collection is equal parts 60's chic meets forest princess.
The two key silhouettes encompass modern 60's shift shapes through to 70's inspired waisted A line skirts. Both outlines encourage unusual garment combinations and layering options. The range of natural fibres spanning cotton, silk, raw silk and wool further lends itself to textural layering.
The collection's cheekiness is playfully captured in an oversized 'eye spy' brooch and button design details, which peep through knee length raincoats. Colour bursts forth in eye popping orange and purple shades and injects a twist to the classic herringbone print. This lively colour combination is disbursed in the 'astral' print story, and a definite signature of the collection.
A strong and diverse dress range is reflected in this collection and spans shift shapes, shirt dresses, as well as waisted prom style options. Interesting design details marks each style with the Gorman stamp, ranging from laser cut hemlines, geometric sequin embellishment and signature print dresses.
The leather frill dress is a statement piece which marries style with substance. Realised in a utilitarian shift shape, featuring a ruffle detail, and available in the softest tan leather which succinctly embodies edgy feminism.
Knitwear features strongly and the highlights this season showcase fuller cropped sleeves, extended shoulders with cable knit detail. The palette is neutral and each style works equally well with narrow or fuller style pants.
Gorman's 'Forest Lines' collection beautifully captures a unique blend of utilitarian femininity and timeless appeal. For your nearest Gorman store please call 02 9331 7088
