If you're seeking grit in your rock on New Year's Eve, look no further than the Sandbelt, presenting Gun Street Girls and Kill Devil Hills to ring in 2010.

A collaboration between Dallas Crane's Dave Larkin and The Double Agents' Dave Butterworth, with drummer John Barter, Gun Street Girls have been boasting sell out shows since they formed, not so long ago, and their recently released album - produced by Larkin himself - showcases some of this country.s finest songwriting.

All the way from the West are The Kill Devil Hills, a five-piece rock outfit with a gripping live act and recorded works that have seen them compared with The Drones and have variously been described as swamp, punk, country-rock, blues and folk. The diverse textures of the band's sound range from mournful, heart-heavy ballads to screeching, visceral jungle punk.
