Makeup Looks For Every Halloween Costume

If we have learnt anything from Mean Girls it's that on Wednesdays we wear pink, Burn Books are bad and that in girl world, Halloween is one of the most important nights of the year!

With that one night coming up we think it's time to start organising our Halloween costumes - and what's a Halloween costume without the perfect Halloween makeup?

From the cute and quirky to the slightly disturbing, INGLOT Pro-team artists have all the inspiration you need to take your Halloween look to the next level.

Practice makes perfect
As the saying goes practice makes perfect and if it's your first time creating a Halloween makeup look, don't be disheartened if you don't pick it up right away. Just as you would practice getting the perfect winged eyeliner, make sure you sit down before Halloween and give your makeup look a go. This will not only help you grasp what works, but also give you the chance to play around with the look and really make it your own.

Outline first
Just like you use a pencil to sketch a drawing before making it permanent with a marker, the same applies for your Halloween makeup. Using a skin coloured eye pencil such as INGLOT's Kohl Pencil in shade 05, outline your design. This way if you make a mistake you can simply wipe it off or blend it into your foundation – no need to start your look all over again!

Duraline will be your saviour
We know that not everyone has an endless supply of face paint in his or her makeup collection, which is why we suggest investing in INGLOT's duraline. The waterless clear liquid intensifies the colour of any powder and when added to gel liners can be used as a face paint to cover larger areas of the face.

Time is key
This isn't your normal Saturday night makeup look and the time you set aside for your makeup should reflect this. Make sure you allocate enough time so that you aren't stressed and can focus on applying your makeup with the detail required. You don't want to spend time perfecting your Halloween look and not being able to execute it properly, due to being in a rush.

Add some texture
If you want your look to really shine, opt for some body sparkles. When they capture the light, glitter flakes will add a whole new dimension to your look and are perfect for making the teeth of your Halloween skull stand out.

Get the melting look
The melting skull makeup look is set to be on trend this Halloween. To make it really look like your face is melting, apply liquid latex with a spatula and let it drip down naturally. Once dry, cover it with foundation so that it blends and finish with a bronzer around the edges to add dimension to the look.
