Within the first three weeks of his second single, titled "Unexpected" being released, Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Harry Phillips has made an impression and kicked more goals.
Adding to his growing list of achievements, "Unexpected" has been included on The A List with Kyle and Jackie O, getting airplay across 119 stations nationally - HUGE news for an independent artist.
Says Harry, "I'm so grateful to Kyle, Jackie O and their team for playing my song. It's an incredible feeling as an artist, to know that the music I pour my heart and soul into will be heard by such a large number of people."
Coming from a family of professional songwriters, Harry's music comes from the heart, having turned to music as therapy after a sporting accident plunged him into a state of depression and anxiety. His music beautifully demonstrates his distinct pop sensibility an indie folk edge, talents which have led to Harry being embraced by commercial and community radio alike.
And it's not just radio, showing the love for Harry Phillips … "Unexpected" has been added to Tiger Air's inflight programming, as well as Apple Music's "Best Of The Week" and "Today's Acoustic" playlists.
Last week, his Brisbane single launch show at Black Bear Lodge saw him perform with his full band to a packed room of a local audience who have supported Harry since he first started playing live a couple of years ago.
Says Harry, "The atmosphere was incredible, and the amazing crowd really took all the performers to another level.
"The band, songs, audience and venue all came together to make it an unforgettable evening.
It was the truest embodiment of my live music vision to date; happy energy, a sense of community, and a real party where everyone gets involved - just amazing!"
"Unexpected" is the second single taken from Harry Phillips' forthcoming EP, which will be released later this year, produced by ARIA Award-winner Govinda Doyle (Angus & Julia Stone).
