Hunter Valley Gardens

Plan a sneaky weekend getaway to the Hunter Valley Gardens this Christmas.

With domestic travel off the cards for this holiday season, grab your friends and escape to the Hunter Valley for the Southern Hemisphere's largest lights display, The Christmas Lights Spectacular. Nestled amongst the hills of the Hunter Valley Wine Region, and only a short two-hour drive from Sydney, The Christmas Lights Spectacular is running until 26th January, 2021, dazzling guests with hundreds of immersive light displays.

With over three million lights illuminating the attraction this year, Hunter Valley Gardens is that one must-do gorgeous Instagram-worthy escape from the city with your friends and loved ones. If you are looking for something fun and memorable to do that beats your average 'light looking' stroll through your suburb, you will be amazed with over 20 new displays added to the grounds this year, in addition to previous favourites such as the iconic Walk-Through Bauble and the Light Tunnel.

While most end-of-year international getaways are off the cards for the time being, Hunter Valley Gardens are thrilled to introduce their Around the World display, where friends dreaming of a getaway together are able to wander past some of the world's most famous landmarks; including the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House, Centre Point Tower, London's Big Ben and the new Australiana scene.

Romantic energies are here to stay at this year's installations, with the Lover's Corner returning for those who want to celebrate their love this merry season. Couples can stroll hand-in-hand through the popular heart tunnel and enjoy a ("germ free") kiss under the mistletoe.
