Ice Skates and Best Mates

School holidays are coming around again so it's time to get your skates on, grab your best mates, rug up and head to Fed Square's outdoor skating sensation, River Rink.  A winter experience like no other in Melbourne, skaters will enjoy the picturesque backdrop of the Yarra River and the city skyline whilst gliding on the ice.  And all in time for school holiday fun.  

The Yarra River's terrace will be transformed to a sensational site of skating and winter wonder.  With its twinkling fairy lights and cranking tunes to set the pace, the open air rink will bring a touch of the northern hemisphere to our winter cool as happy skaters of all ages experience the joy of skating outdoors.  River Rink is the perfect school holiday activity either during the day or into the evening.

Suitable for skaters of all ages and ability, River Rink opens on Saturday 1 July and will be in place until Sunday 23 July.  Open daily (Monday - Wednesday, Sundays | 10am - 9pm | Thursday - Saturday | 10am – 10pm), tickets go on sale on Monday 5 June and will be snapped up!  Skating sessions last 45 minutes and begin on the hour, every hour. 

Skaters should book early to secure their desired session and avoid disappointment as space on the ice is limited!  There will be a ticket booth on site however it's advisable to book online and secure your spot.  Head to fedsquare.com/riverrink to book from Saturday 3 June.

Whether an experienced ice skater, dancer or just a beginner, River Rink is the place to be.  And cute 70cm high skating aids are available for hire to assist our little learners, and give them the support and confidence they need to enjoy this uniquely Melbourne winter experience
