Want a new angle on Sydney?
The National Maritime Museum invites you to climb to the top of its historic lighthouse for a different view of Darling Harbour and the city beyond.
And as another attraction, Morse Code experts from the Telstra Museum at Bankstown will set up a stand and demonstrate their (almost lost) craft.
Before Twitter, before SMS, even before telephones, lonely lighthouse keepers kept in touch with the world by Morse Code. The Morsecodians on 'Lighthouse Sunday' will tap-tap messages to another specially installed Morse station near the lighthouse at the Eden Killer Whale Museum on the NSW south coast.
Visitors to the National Maritime Museum will be able to send a 'telegram' to any address in the world via Morse Code to Eden and then by Australia Post mail.
