The world of Jakers! appeals to children aged 4 to 7, who are drawn into the imaginative world of Piggley Winks.

Grandpa Piggley Winks entertains and educates his grandchildren and young viewers with tales of his Irish childhood on Raloo Farm. As Grandpa's stories unfold, viewers are transported back in time to the comical adventures of the young and mischievous Piggley Winks and his best friends, Ferny (a young bull) and Dannan (a girl duck). Piggley and his playmates love to use their imaginations to create adventures for themselves in the Irish countryside.

Each adventure Piggley Winks and his friends embark on presents a dilemma young children might face in their daily lives. Piggley Winks shows young viewers how to use their problem-solving skills to figure out what to do. To underscore the values of Piggley Winks, each show features a mini-documentary in which real children tell their own stories and discuss dilemmas they have faced.
