The Powerhouse has today announced an Australian exclusive event with internationally-renowned architect Jeanne Gang. For the first time in Sydney, the founding principal of Studio Gang and MacArthur Fellow will discuss her award-winning practice and design process in a free talk at the Powerhouse Museum on 28 October 2019.

Jeanne Gang, FAIA, is the founding principal and partner of internationally-renowned architecture and urban design practice Studio Gang. She is visiting Australia as a member of Powerhouse Precinct International Design Competition.

Jeanne Gang has won multiple awards for her practice including the 2013 National Design Award and was named in the TIME 100 most influential people of 2019. Her work has been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Museum of Modern Art, and Art Institute of Chicago.

Gang is recognised for her creative and analytical approach that expands beyond architecture's conventional boundaries to foreground relationships between individuals, communities, and their environment.

Her diverse portfolio includes award-winning projects throughout the Americas and Europe, such as the expansion of the American Museum of Natural History in New York; the University of Chicago Center in Paris; and Aqua Tower in Chicago. She is currently designing major projects throughout the Americas and Europe, including the new United States Embassy in Brasilia and her largest commission to date, the O'Hare Global Terminal in Chicago.
